Immerse yourself in Joan of Arc’s trial!
Forget your landmarks and delve into the darkness of the rooms of the Archbishop’s Palace – your visit is about to begin. Let yourself be guided by an immersive digital tour of the most fascinating epic in French history.
The year is 1456, and Rouen’s archiepiscopal palace is the setting for a historic trial to rehabilitate Joan of Arc. Judged a “heretic” by the Church twenty-five years earlier, she was condemned to death at the stake in what is now the Place du Vieux-Marché in Rouen.
From room to room, follow the captivating investigation led by Jean Juvénal des Ursins, archbishop of Reims and mastermind of the trial. The accounts of twenty-three witnesses reveal the key moments in Joan’s life, from her childhood in Domrémy to her military actions to regain the throne of France.
